True human maturity lies in the rediscovery of childhood, in our return to the deepest truth of our hearts, where we drink from the very wellspring of our existence flowing unceasingly from the Heart of the Trinity. As in the beginning of our life all was pure gift, so also at the end of our life, as we return to weakness and dependency, we find all becoming gift again–and we are invited to discover and abide in this mystery of gift every day of our lives….

I want you to know, beloved, and to feel that the greatest masterpiece which I desire for you is the unspeakable beauty which is you yourself. You, the one whom I infinitely love, are the icon, transparent to my shining glory, enfolded in my grace, a blaze of fiery light bursting through the eyes, a figure whose countenance, whose heart, whose life is a reflection of the life, the heart, the face which is my own.
