Unspeakable Beauty: A Novel

Price range: $16.00 through $19.00

At the beginning of the twenty-first century:
When Adam awakes in the hospital he does not remember his past, and he is impelled to ask the question, “Who am I?” And yet this question itself is already cradled in the awe of first discovery in which his heart is stirred to childlike wonder and playfulness at his contact with a beautiful world that he had almost lost forever. But whenever his memory comes flooding back in and his whole being is shaken by the trauma of a painful life, will he be able to retain his childlike wonder? And will he find an answer this fundamental question, this question that remains even with the gift of remembrance, reaching back to the origin of all memory both ancient and new?

At the beginning of the twentieth century:
Alojzy is Adam’s great-uncle, a man of Poland who has sent ripples subtle but profound throughout history, but of whom Adam knows almost nothing. When he at last encounters him in the most unexpected of ways, these ripples begin to echo within Adam’s own heart, and the meaning of both life and death, of both joy and suffering, is profoundly unveiled.

———————————————-

Throughout this novel these two lives, and the lives of many others, are woven together in a tapestry that, while composed of light and darkness, of happiness and grief, of profound hope and inexpressible anguish, is nonetheless a work of unspeakable beauty because woven of the Love that is Beauty itself.

While written to stand alone, this is also the first book in the series, “The Song of the Dove.” The second volume, carrying on the story begun here and bringing it to its conclusion, is entitled Love Interlacing.
