New Substack, “Musings on Mythopoeia,” Devoted to Writing and Storytelling

I am writing to share that I have created a new Substack feed, Musings on Mythopoeia, where I intend to share my thoughts concerning fiction, story, and myth, and my “writings about writing,” exploring topics such a storytelling, the creator’s craft, and the beauty of creating secondary, imaginative worlds as a gift to this primary world in which we live. While there are other places where I share writing and creative work—primarily my atthewellspring.com website, the Wellspring Reflections (for non-fiction), and music on Bandcamp—I reserve this space for things specific to storytelling and co-creation, and thoughts about the creative process or the responsibility of work and creativity itself. I may also in future use this space to share short stories and bits of lore in the world of Irándiel that do not fit into the specific narrative structure of the Dawnbringer series, but which stand on their own and deepen or expand the world and its mythology.

You can expect, at most, new content every fortnight or so, so feel free to follow along if this aligns with your interests or what I am writing proves to be of service to you. Feel free to click the image below to access the first post, a reflection on the two general trends of creative activity that we experience as human beings. There you can also subscribe if you wish to receive updates concerning new articles posted to the Substack.
